Human resources services outsourcing company Smartree Romania said on Thursday it opened its fourth office in Romania, which will provide outsourcing services for salary and personnel administration.
The new office, located in the southern city of Craiova, will serve the entire region, Smartree said in a press release.
According to Smartree, Craiova is one of the points of interest at the moment because of its numerous industrial parks, software development centres and manufacturing facilities of the automotive industry. Craiova also has one of the largest university centres in the country.
“I chose Craiova after consulting studies on the labor market in Romania and on the possibilities of development in various regions. I saw an opportunity to open an office here and we started to test the market. We have found highly trained people in this field who fit the profile we are looking for and so it all started,” Smartree CEO Adrian Stanciu said.
In the first phase, the team in Craiova will comprise a team leader and two or three specialists, but it will expand as the number of clients and services will increase.
At present, Smartree has over 80 employees in its centres in Bucharest, Pitesti and Timisoara. The company has over 180 clients, mostly multinational companies, and provides services to 600,000 employees annually. It offers a full range of services in payroll, staff administration, analysis and reporting for management, recruitment, temporary work services and consultancy.
In March, Smartree said it expects to make a turnover of 17 million euro ($20.4 million) in 2017, up 30% year-on-year on the back of diversifying services and growing demand.
Smartree began operations in 2000 with the launch of the first online recruitment service in Romania, which it sold in 2004 to online jobs portal BestJobs, and with the first Payroll BPO Service.
